French energy utility GDF Suez was mulling investing about 100 million euro in biomass projects in Bulgaria,
Agriculture Minister Miroslav Naidenov said following a meeting with representatives of the company.
GDF Suez plans to construct power units in four Bulgarian towns, Naidenov said, but declined to name them.
Spanish and Bulgarian companies have also shown interest in developing biomass projects in the country, according to the minister.
Bulgaria's new bill on renewable energy, now in second reading in Parliament's economic policies committee, will stipulate a clause for connecting biomass power plants to the grid.
