Investments in energy efficiency and sources of renewable energy sources stay attractive and zero degree ofr investors, Iulian Iancu the chairman of the Commission for Industries and Services in the Deputies’ Chamber said on Tuesday during the Black Sea Forum in Bucharest.
“ We are in the position where the world, for the next three decades, has ensured resources of energy out of fossil fuel at over 80%. Are are reserves confirmed at the level of 186 trillion cubic metres of gas for over 54 years. For oil there are 136 billion tons, for over 41 years and for coal the quantity is of 860 billion tons the equivalent of resources for the next 100 years” Iancu said. According to him, Romania has a reserve of fossil fuel of over 880 million tons which are found in the Black Sea platform and the necessary technology to work this resource.
« I think it is known to you the fact that the studies made by Jean Jacques Cousteau in the Black Sea showed the existence of hydrate gas which, only in the platform zone of Ukrane would give the solution for energy resource for 1,100 years. Romania has an estimated reserve of 880 million tons of fossil fuel in our platform until today. And maybe you know that during there is a specialist who discovered the method to use hydrate gas. We have also seen the Bulgarians made a similar announcement. Then the studies reached Moscow and from there the answer was that the discovery was of no interest and you know why “ Iancu said.
According to the official the Black Sea is a meeting place for the transit corridors for energy resources which could be used with the help of existing technologies.
« Suddenly, the Black Sea becomes an important place for the transit corridor of energy sources such as oil, gas not only on the pipeline but in liquified gas tanks and the use of hydrate gas and the potential of renewable energy all around. And I would stop at a project which could be used successfully in the neighbouring countries, the combination of agricultural potential of the area with the energy one, namely biomass, bioenergy and biogas. The present technology offers the possibility to put to value what has been abandoned on surfaces of tens, hundreds and thousands of ha in a country. There is the technology, we don’t have to do anything else to make it known and transferred. For this, there is the need for an adequate legislation to be accepted by neighbouring countries, a pilot-project which could be applied in these domains and then multiplied in thousands, tens of thousands of projects. We need guarantees for investors to get the chance to diminish their risks and recover their investment” Iulia Iancu said.
The first edition of the Black Sea Forum for Renewable Energy as well as the Exhibition of equipment for renewable energy took place these days in Bucharest.
