Brazil and Iran could enter into an agreement to produce ethanol from sugar cane.
The move was put forward during a meeting between the Head of Iranian Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IDRO) Seyed Majid Hedayat and Deputy Brazilian Science and Technology Minister Czar Gadella in Tehran.
According to the Iranian Fars Newsagency, Mr Gadella said that Brazil is ready to cooperate with Iran in fields of technology and production to help the country produce ethanol from sugar cane as well as other scientific areas.
Iran has sugar cane plantations in the south, as well a research centres and fuel and car companies that make ethanol production feasible.
The report says that Brazil's expertise in the area of biofuel production make the venture attractive to Iran.
