PHILIPPINES - State-owned PNOC-Alternative Fuels has signed an agreement with Dole Philippines and Toyota Tsusho of Japan on possible collaboration and cooperation on biofuels.
The state-owned Philippine National Oil Company - Alternative Fuels Corporation (PNOC-AFC), headed by Romeo P. Tolentino, recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Dole Philippines, Inc. and Toyota Tsusho Corporation on the exploration of possible areas of collaboration and cooperation in various areas of research development, commercialisation, and supply and marketing of biofuels in the country.
This agreement is seen to open a new horizon in the current jatropha biodiesel project of the PNOC-AFC owing to the proven track record of Dole Philippines in agronomic strategies and practices.
Meanwhile, PNOC-AFC's partnership with Toyota Tsusho Corporation promises a brighter potential for the commercialisation and marketing of biofuels not only in the country but even in the ASEAN region.
