Pres. Lee, Malaysian PM hold
summit and sign treaty
President Lee Myung-bak and Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak held bilateral talks to review 50 years of diplomatic ties and discuss ways to boost cooperation.
They later attended a signing ceremony of memorandums of understanding on oil field development and bioenergy and a treaty on mutual legal assistance in criminal matters.
The Malaysian prime minister announced that the two countries are looking into a possible free trade agreement as well as bolstering cooperation in green growth and nuclear power plant construction.
President Lee is scheduled to participate in a forum with a group of Korean and Malaysian business leaders followed by a state dinner hosted by Malaysia's Supreme Head, Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin, before returning home Saturday.
